Maren and I are exploring the option to get into a home this year. Mainly because the government is being so nice to keep interest rates low, and giving us a bit of a break so we could get into a home. The real question is do we trust them?
Check out the pictures of the home. Tell us what you think.

That is awesome Duane and Maren. I hope you guys get the house and we'll be able to visit sometime. All of "The Five" and families need to get together sometime and catch up.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys,
Laura
Wait, did you get it? That is fun. It really doesn't look like that much work, a few paint jobs and maybe some carpet, not too bad. With maren's decorating skills, it will be cute!
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice and big! When Ben and I bought we didn't get a yard. We live in a triplex. Anyway, that is something I wish we had and i know that Evan would love running around in a big yard like that(what kid wouldn't)? Anyway, I say if you love it and see good potential I say you should go for it! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great deal!
ReplyDeleteHey guys, looks like it could be a good thing. I can totally understand the excitement of wanting to get into your first home, just be careful. I know you don't need me telling you this but it's a HUGE commitment. It's not the same housing market that existed 2 years ago and I don't know how re-sales are there in Utah at the moment. If you plan on being there for a while, it might not be a bad idea, but if you're planning to relocate right after school, you may want to hold off. We have some friends that moved from here to Utah, he lost his job 4 months after the move, and they couldn't sell their home. He got another job in Portland but they couldn't sell their home there in Utah. It went into foreclosure and absolutely wrecked their credit. They're really smart people too...they just got caught in a bad situation beyond their control. Make it a prayerful decision and you can't go wrong. Let me know how things work out!
